After last yearโs snowpocalypse caved in roofs and caused area schools to close for snow removal, Senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley went to bat for the Bend-La Pine school district.
The school district will receive more than $1 million in Federal Emergency Management Agency money to reimburse costs of last Januaryโs snow removal, and for engineering evaluations.

โThese much-needed funds will help the Bnd-La Pine School District recover from serious damage caused by last winterโs snowstorms,โ Merkley said in a press release.
โEnsuring students, teachers and staff are in a safe setting always is a top priority,โ Wyden said in the same release.
Update: Redmond School District also received a $464,648 FEMA grant for reimbursement costs from last year’s snow removal.
