Approximately 75 people showed up Saturday morning to volunteer for the Central Oregon Trail Allianceโ€™s annual Spring Fling trail maintenance day. And what a work day it turned out to be what with moderate temperatures and a bit of cloud cover during the four hours of work and then bright sunshine for the after party at Hutchโ€™s Westside.

The majority of the trail work was done on the new Wanoga network but some attention was paid to trimming brush and fixing some trail erosion along the Skyliner Trail between the old Skyliners ski hill and Upper Whoops.

After the work was done, volunteers were in for the usual free beer provided by Deschutes Brwery and, in a change a pace from burgers and dogs, fresh salads from the Marz food cart.

Noted one new-to-Bend resident at the after party: โ€œwhat a great event not only to give back to the community but also to meet new people.โ€
