The focus downtown right now is the massive Masters Road National Championships that’s closed off pretty much every important intersection and the area is packed with fans cheering on the riders.

But don’t let those road closures keep you from making it down to the Little Woody Barrel-Aged Brew fest. The BENT blog gave out a bunch of tickets to the specialty beer festival earlier today, and even if you didn’t win, you should check this unique-to-Bend event tonight (5pm-10pm) and tomorrow (Noon to 10pm).

Here are the breweries who will be on tap:

  • 10 Barrel Brewing Co. โ€“ Bend
  • Bend Brewing Co. โ€“ Bend (Obviously)
  • Boneyard Beer โ€“ Bend
  • Block 15 โ€“ Corvallis
  • Cascade Lakes Brewing Company โ€“ Bend
  • Deschutes Brewery โ€“ Bend
  • Hopworks Urban Brewery โ€“ Portland
  • McMenamins Old St. Francis School โ€“ Bend
  • Ninkasi Brewing โ€“ Eugene
  • Oakshire Brewing โ€“ Eugene
  • Silver Moon Brewing Co. โ€“ Bend
  • Three Creeks Brewing Co. โ€“ Sisters

ย To see what each is pouring, check out the guide in this week’s print edition.

And if you want to get into the Northwest whiskey tasting, here are the spirits that will be on hand.

  1. Barrel-aged must make this more worthwhile, because otherwise it appears to be the same slate of beer (albeit good beer) that we get in our area on a regular basis. Perhaps a better event would bring in brews from further away that allow something new to be sampled. Expand the horizons-

  2. Best beer: Three Creeks Grandma V. Ryeley. Man oh man was that tasty. That vanilla finish on the end had me lined up for more.

Worst beer: BBC’s Ching Ching. I took one sip and had to spit it out. Tasted like stale popcorn and dish soap. Seriously, did anyone even taste this at the BBC? Truly, truly awful.
