Under the headline “You Knew It Had to Happen,” Jake at the Utterly Boring blog reports that T-shirts commemorating Bend’s Famous Pregnant Man will go on sale soon.

“The T-shirts are being done by Flash Ink, a local screen printing company,” Jake writes. “They’re going to go on sale on Wednesday, are $15, and are available by calling (541) 408-1308 or via e-mail at rogerprints@yahoo.com.”

Meanwhile, it appears that any lingering doubts about the legitimacy of the story have been laid to rest: Thomas Beatie and his wife Nancy have appeared on Oprah and confirmed that Thomas, a transgendered male, has conceived by artificial insemination and is expecting a baby girl in July.

Incidentally, on the Huffington Post site there’s a photo of Thomas (formerly named Tracy) before his sex change, looking pretty damn hot.

  1. I feel that if she really wanted to be a man, she would have had her female organs removed. I feel she wanted to do this because she wanted to be in the public eye. I am sure she got paid by people magazine and oprah to be on the show. They say they just want to be alone, if that was the case they would have not done the show and the magazine layout. I feel sorry for the child coming into this freak show. The kid is never going to have a normal life with parents like that.

I’m not sure what “normal life” means. If the kid had two heterosexual parents who beat, abused and neglected her, would that be considered “normal”?
