Yes, I know it’s overdone, but Sparks Lake at sunrise still rocks. This week, I camped up there to get that early morning light. This photo was taken before the sun hits the mountain at 5:30 AM. I used the self-timer on my camera and triggered a wireless flash to light up myself. I used my f-stop camera bag as a prop for a backpack and pretended to be rugged…The morning shaped up gorgeously with deep blue sky later and crisp fresh air.

The lesson? Getting out of bed early can be very rewarding.
