The pilot program is called Boat to School and provides Central Oregon kids with a taste of the sea in the High Desert, according to the <a href=”http://boat2school.wordpress.com“>Oregon Boat to School pilot program website.

Oregon Pacific Pink shrimp, rockfish, and sole were the district’s first purchases through a provider called Bornstein’s seafood.

Every one of the district’s 27 schools can now boast serving some of the freshest and best seafood in the country to our kids.

So far these kids have been treated to shrimp salad, shrimp sushi and shrimp fettuccine.

We should all be so lucky.
