If you didnโ€™t call in sick to work today, you might want to leave early for a โ€œdentist appointment.โ€ The trails are calling.

While the cool, damp weather has been a wet blanket for many types of summer fun in the last few days, itโ€™s positively transformed the forest. Last weekโ€™s dusty, loose trails are now firm and tacky. It smells like moss and bark, the ferns and wildflowers are showy and the mosquitoes have gone into hiding for at least a day or two.

Descending is especially fun and fast. Just remember to ride through the few mud puddles and not around them, as we donโ€™t want our lower, well-trafficked trails even wider than they already are.
