Dear guy in front of me at last night’s G. Love and Special Sauce/Belle Brigade show,
I’ve posted some videos on this site for you to check out because, as far as I can tell, you didn’t see much, if any, of the show at a sold-out Domino Room last night because you were texting throughout the whole show, only taking a break between songs to backpedal into me and shout either “Git er done!” or “Uh, winning!” toward the ceiling.
I don’t mind the inadvertent drunken body contact. The place was packed, as was your gut with cheap beer, so no worries there. And it’s a rock show — do whatever you want to do, right?
But seriously, the “winning” stuff has to stop. And the “git ‘er done” thing ended a couple years ago. Also, the finger whistling is generally frowned upon, too. I doubt G. Love, while ripping through a set that included the best of G. Love’s classics as well as cuts from his new record, was all that impressed by your whistling.
And if you were there for the promising pop rock of the Belle Brigade, I hope you enjoyed it. It looked like everyone was having a good time in the packed-to-capacity venue. I know I was, and so was the rest of our staff who made it out.
OK, here’s the video!
Winningly,
Mike

Too Bad Bend has to put up with such a sh$#ty venue such as the domino room when we have such amazing acts as G-love and Galactic coming too our tiny town. We were led to believe it was going to be at the midtown but no such luck. If you were upstairs, the sound was muffled and if you were downstairs and were unlucky enough to be under 5’10 then you couldn’t see who was 2 feet in front of you, let alone up on stage. And god forbid someone farted, I’t would stick to you like napalm.
Please mister money man whoever you are. Open a classy venue and we will come!
Curious to hear how “chris hardy” was led to believe it was going to be at midtown?
About the Domino Room.On my first visit to this establishment I had the immediately impression that it had the same ambience of the local police station’s holding cell. Not that I’ve ever been in one…well acually I have but that’s another very complicated chapter in my life…so far.The sound quality is the worst I’ve ever expierenced except maybe that time I suffered thru a set by a local band in Juarez,Mexico.I’ve given the the Domino Room many chance’s to impress me with local or imported talent but have always left depressed at the lack of star quality, spark or just good old outrageous garage band moxie. The owner of this disappointing site for musical entertainment needs to fire their present talent scout and hire one that understands the importance of clear chord ability, songs that are,if not coherent,at least amusing.Until that happens I’ll pass and save my money for a better cause.
