Thrash metal crash lands into Bend Sunday when Colorado based Havok opens for Ohio’s own Skeltonwitch at the Horned Hand. The Abomination Tour has taken Skeletonwitch to hell and back playing shows across the US including the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn and Whiskey A Go Go in West Hollywood. The tour is in support of Forever Abomination the bands third release for Prosthetic Records. On the tracks Repulsive Salvation and Soul Trashing Black Sorcery lead vocalist Chance Garnette alternately growls, rages and roars into the mic and sounds well, pretty much exactly like Satan (or any other high ranking demon of the apocalypse) much to his credit. Garnette is backed by drummer Dustin Boltjes, bassist Evan Linger and guitarists Nate Garnette and Scott Hedrick. Get there early so as not to miss the opening act Havok. Havok delivers fast, aggressive, metal that’s expertly executed and heavier than hell. Want a taste? Check out Havok’s recently released video for Covering Fire then dig out your Anthrax shirt, do some stretches and get your ass down to the Horned Hand to commence head bangin’.
