The left wing and the right wing are both guilty of playing the “race” card. The problem is that “race” is outmoded, no longer in use by biologists and anthropologists. The traditional division of Caucasian, Mongoloid and Negroid is no longer in technical use. It’s felt that “race” has no biological validity. We are all one race, or better put, we are all the same people. To think otherwise, denies that we are all one species, Homo sapiens.
Kenneth said one good thing. “The reason the country is in this mess is due to a lack of both parties doing due diligence to their Constitutional mandate.” I disagree that the Founders envisioned they would be in a session only one month and then go out and earn a living in the private sector. If so it would be in the Constitution and I find nothing to support that. In fact, under Art. I, sec. 6, they are to receive compensation for their services, amounting to professional politicians!
The country was founded on equal human rights for all people. The religious right wing are obsessed with denying equal rights to gays in defiance of the Constitution’s “equal protection under the law.” They seem to believe that God and religion determine people’s rights but they don’t – our Constitution does. Their attack on gays is an abomination!
Kenneth asks: “If the country were ever to be united what would these left-wing politicians do?” That’s easy. They wouldn’t waste their country’s time bad-mouthing their president like the right-wingers do!

Bob Bates says:
With reference to right-winger Kenneth Swipies piece of Oct. 15, he apparently thinks his denigration of the “left-wing” shouldn't be challenged, but the left-wings denigration of the right-wing is verboten! A double standard?”
So, you start your “rebuttal” based on a false statement. No where have I said any such thing, nor have I stated such in my response to other posts made “behind the scenes” where the majority of readers will never see what is said. Too bad that you would like to spread your misstatements in the written word, while ignoring truth, and the reality, that is obvious in this forum.
“He doesn't accept the 1st Amendment to our Constitution by denying the separation of church and state. He makes a mockery of it even though it's supported by the U.S. Supreme Court. He's unaware that the separation of church and state was already well established at the time of the Constitutional Convention.”
Not as it appears in todays society. Even Jefferson, the author of the “separation of Church and State” supported the need for religion as a part of politics, and the societal structure. He even attended church services held in the House, and Franklins bill which authorized the hiring of Chaplains. He also signed into law twice using federal funds to pay for missionairies, and the building of Church’s, in Indian territory.
“Abortion has also been legalized by the Court.”
The idea of abortion found its roots in Griswold v Connecticut which ruled that a woman had the right to take a contraceptive prescribed by her doctor. In Roe the Court determined that there was a basis for a “privacy right” concerning the womans body which is found no where in the Constitution. Setting apart the lies told to the Court on the numbers of “back alley’ abortions, etc., the fact remains that the Court created out of whole cloth this right to kill ones unborn.
“He makes an erroneous statement about God and the Bible in public schools. The teaching of evolution is there, God and the Bible are not!”
Then what was false about what I said?
“I'm not familiar with the left-wing attempt to get faith-based organizations to help promote “Universal Healthcare.” But anything's possible.”
Obama helda conference with many of the countries religious leaders a few months back asking for their support of the public option on “moral grounds” jsut as he recently asked the “faith based” groups to help in a fight against the growing violence in public schools.
“The left wing and the right wing are both guilty of playing the “race” card. The problem is that “race” is outmoded, no longer in use by biologists and anthropologists. The traditional division of Caucasian, Mongoloid and Negroid is no longer in technical use. It's felt that “race” has no biological validity. We are all one race, or better put, we are all the same people. To think otherwise, denies that we are all one species, Homo sapiens.”
One species, many races. However, how has the “rightwing” played the “race card”? Is it not the left that consistently accuses others, especially those who oppose the “leftwing agenda” of being racists? During the campaign Obama even stated that many would not vote for him because he did not look like the Founders.
“I disagree that the Founders envisioned they would be in a session only one month and then go out and earn a living in the private sector. If so it would be in the Constitution and I find nothing to support that. In fact, under Art. I, sec. 6, they are to receive compensation for their services, amounting to professional politicians!”
Not true. The Founders, if you would care to read their personal writings, expected the Congress to be a part time job, and one for Statesmen. The “compensation” given was not enough to pay for their livelihood, just for their expenses.
“The country was founded on equal human rights for all people. The religious right wing are obsessed with denying equal rights to gays in defiance of the Constitution's “equal protection under the law.” They seem to believe that God and religion determine people's rights but they don't – our Constitution does. Their attack on gays is an abomination!”
What attack on Gays? Granting them special rights is not in the Constitution. When the government steps in and orders one to accept what the majority of the people believe is a deviant lifestyle, and makes any criticism of that lifestyle a crime, then you have an abomination.
“That's easy. They wouldn't waste their country's time bad-mouthing their president like the right-wingers do!”
LOL, like they were so respectful of Reagan, and Bush43.
You began your treatise with a false statement, and ended it with one. And I am sure the leftwingers in here will congratulate you for your “insightful” letter.
I would like to thank Bob Bates and congratulate him on his very insightful letter.
Prizes!!!!! $20 to any reader who can tell us what this actually means: “So, you start your “rebuttal” based on a false statement. Don’t bait the bastards, shorty.
Ignore it, it’ll go away.
Yes, “It”… is less than human.
One Race. One Species.
LOL Shortall,
Once again you demonstrate that you have no reading comprehension. Then too, you have the likes of Ware to support you even though he does not know the difference between a species, and a race. I suppose he thinks all butterflys are the same too.
Websters: Race defined as “a subdivision of a species”.
Now, if you children have nothing better to do might I suggest getting an education.
Well, that’s me put soundly in my place! I just don’t know which way to look, I’m so embarrassed and ashamed. The guy who writes meaningless, meandering sentences, can’t use a dictionary properly even though his has pictures, constructs arguments out of hilarious strings of non-sequiturs and thinks the cleverest thing to say in any argument is “the Dems did it too, yah boo!” and “abortion… blah, blah” has advised ME to get an education.
No, really KKK, how much would you charge to do our Halloween Party, I’m serious. LOL
Mr. Swipes, I would like to compliment you on your well written logic. Some people may have been confused, because their logic is twisted.
For example, I have noticed that most pro-abortion thinkers are also pro-public healthcare. Their argument for abortion is, “A woman's body is personal and private. No one has the right to tell a woman what she can and can not do with her own body!” Yet, in the same breath, argue for a public healthcare plan, which will mandate government control over what people can and can not do with their own bodies.
That same logic is often applied to individual private property rights, then enthusiastically voting for higher taxes and increased land use legislation.
