In response to Dana Johnson’s claim that the Tea Party has the answers for the ills of this country. First, this so-called Tea Party movement has absolutely nothing in common and nothing to do with the Boston Tea Party of 1773. Please stop with this bad joke already. History is more than just a slogan. Second, where were all you Tea Party folks and your righteous indignation when Bush, Cheney, et al were running this country into the ground and dooming the future of your children?

The original modern tea party actually began with the Ron Paul R3volution on Dec 16th 2007 (the day he raised more money online than any other candidate ever). There are many Neocons who are trying to take over the movement (Palin, Beck, etc…) and it is yet to be seen how much of an impact they will have. So where was Ron and his bunch during the Bush years you ask?? opposing wars and welfare, where else.
As with nearly all Tea Party critics from whom I’ve ever heard, Mr. Ensing criticizes the movement, its name and its timing instead of the reason it started. Out of control spending was happening in the Bush administration, it happened during the 1920s, the 1930s, 1940s, slacked off a little in the 1950s, started up again in the 1960s, and hasn’t much let up since then. Mr. Ensing completely sidestepped the fact that the so-called Tea Party (I didn’t name it, I didn’t start it, and I’m not here to perpetuate it; I’m just responding to the arguments against it.) As for dooming the future of our children, government has been doing that for decades.

Mr. Ensing, please tell me how Bush ran the country into the ground and doomed our children’s future? (kool-aid answers prohibited)
Why did the original Tea Party take place? “Taxation Without Representation”. Why is this Tea Party taking place? SEE ABOVE!
You know, whenever I get in a financial bind, the first thing I do is go on a reckless spending spree. Works everytime! You can file bankruptcy every 7 years, you know?
How in God’s Green Earth can you think what Obama and the elitist democrates are doing is helping our children’s future? Do you understand Economics 101?
1. Print more money and it devalues every dollar in your pocket.
2. Someone has to pay the money back – that’s our children & grandchildren – THANKS!
3. The dollar has weakened world-wide. China and others want to stop using the American Dollar as a base currency. The ONLY reason our dollar has been a base currency is because of it’s strength & purchasing power. There are no hard assets to back it. If our dollar is not the world currency, we will suffer hyper-inflation.
4. Hyper-inflation: Google It! You don’t want to be in a country suffering through this.
You really need to study history before you start spouting off about what you know nothing about.
Mattress, Beck & others are not trying to take over the movement. They are joining in with like-minded true Americans. I have never been to one of their rallys. I’ve never even gone to their website. I don’t haven’t had time to watch or listen to any conservative TV or radio in over a year. However, I have still learned enough about the movement to say, “Count me in”! Time for you to wake up too!
So suggest some SPECIFIC alternatives to “Government” my Johnson… I can’t think of one and having seen the mess y’all make of it here I can see why you suspect Government (BIG or small) so much.
Perhaps, as I believe, the US needs to put some real effort into forming two or three other parties – the two we’ve got only know one script.
