Enough already about Bachelor. They finally got it right this year. The East lifts are best in the morning for spring conditions. They get morning sun. The last few seasons they had Northwest instead of Sunrise open in the spring, the mountain was closed before Northwest even softened up. Now you can ski the east side all the way to the return trail. Give it
a rest and be thankful we still can go skiing in May. Where else can
you do that?

  3. whistler–still open, Telluride and Jackson closed April 6, Aspen, Park City, Sun Valley closed April 13.

  4. Real Ski Towns (RSTs) have on slope lodging, with ski-in and ski-out access, like all of the above RSTs have. All Oregon has is National Forests and 20-30 mile drives. Oregon will always be lacking in that respect. And Bend will NEVER be anything like a RST. Bachelor is just a larger version of HooDoo. Ouch!

  5. Old Harry is right on the money. This will never be Boulder – I always laugh when I see that comment printed in the Bulletin etc. Go to Boulder and see.Boulder has a university, major I mean major industry. What does Bend have? No culture, no sporting events, just a bunch of lycra wearing bikes peddling law breaking cyclists. Bend has NOTHING I mean NOTHING to compare to Boulder. This is not a ski town and this is NOT a mountain town – the flippin mountains are 25 miles away. Mountain towns are IN THE MOUNTAINS!! Bend revolves around money – attitudes revolve around money – these good old boys who grew up here think they are so cool, in their mountain town. Ha – what a joke. Go to a real ski town and see the difference. But to those who have relocated this IS the country. Bachelor is an intermiediate mediocre mountain that has terrible weather due to its location. Rim ice is always going to be here – it is the 1st mountain peak off the Pacific in this area so it will always get slammed. Poor little Bacheloretes.
