As a long time resident of Bend, this election seems to be evolving to be one of the most “sit up and take notice” events, EVER!
Having felt so strongly about it, I have donated the most money, ever, in an election cycle. So, I guess I have put my money where my mouth is…. One candidate that I feel strongly about is Ben Westlund. Ben has been my “go to guy.” His party affiliation did not mean a thing to me. When he was a state representative, I was not in his district, but I told him he was MY representative. Whenever I contacted Ben about information or legislation, or needed something done, he always had time for me. And, things got done. Sometimes Ben would get things done before I got ready to call him.
As a successful businessman, I feel Ben will do an outstanding job as state treasurer. Oregon needs to maintain its top-notch bond rating and remain financially secure, during these trying times. I do not want to see Oregon on a “rescue list.” Ben tends to keep his priorities in perspective. He is not afraid to step outside the box to accomplish a goal. SO… when you are sitting there marking your ballot, do not hesitate to VOTE FOR Ben Westlund for Oregon State Treasurer. You won’t regret it !!!
