As another election season heats up, I just wanted to weigh in with my own opinion. No president can ever give me what I need – what I need is a vibrant local economy that sustains its members by keeping its dollars here.
Much love to Bend, Oregon.

  1. J. Johansen: Unfortunately, as we in the industry are prone to murmur, you are shit out of luck. No local economy, no matter how vibrant, can keep it’s dollars within that economy. Are you going to smelt, forge, fabricate and assemble an entire Buick here? No? Well, when someone buys one, some bucks fly away. The same with just about everything made and sold. Want some OJ in January? You sure as shit won’t have any oranges growing here then. You might as well wish for a new brain. Crack a book on economics. “Local,” now means the entire planet. Goodbye,Bend. Hello, Planet.
