I read articles all month about the location for the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and angry citizens who are fighting to keep it out of their neighborhood.

Seems nowhere is good enough. I have a solution Bend & (ODOT), if you don’t want the DMV in your precious city, move it to La Pine. That ought to stop the bickering, huh? I mentioned this to some townspeople in La Pine and they said it wouldn’t work because, “People in Bend do not want to drive all the way to La Pine.”

Hey folks, we in La Pine don’t like having to drive to Bend, but we do it – for everything. La Pine is a young city and the DMV would generate jobs and cash flow. We’ll take you DMV. Our neighborhood welcomes you. ODOT, are you listening? City manager of La Pine are you listening?– Ro McCrory
