I try to look at your publication on a weekly basis. I can’t recall reading about an avowed Communist, Van Jones, from Oakland, Calif., whom President BO tabbed as his “green” czar. It’s also known that Jones signed a document holding the United States government responsible for the 9/11 attacks. Fortunately, guys like Bill O’Reilly and Glen Beck exposed this person and he has since resigned his post.
Also, because of Beck and O’Reilly, ACORN has been exposed. This was a case of a 25-year-old male posing as a pimp for his 20-year-old prostitute. They videoed four ACORN offices in which they were seeking assistance in opening a brothel and were considering importing underage girls from El Salvador to work in them. And, lo and behold, the ACORN personnel were very sympathetic to their cause and gave the prospective young business people tips on how to beat the system and the federal government.
I guess the reason I didn’t read anything about these two instances in your publication is that few, if any, on your staff watches O’Reilly, Beck or Fox News. However, you have writers that continue to bash these guys and this network. Ah, ignorance is bliss!!!

Bruce Miller dedicated an entire online column to the controversy around Van Jones, who served as green jobs advisor in the Obama administration before resigning over criticism about his decision to sign a petition (before joining the administration) that raised the possibility of a 9/11 cover-up. As far as El Salvadoran ACORN pimps, well, you got us there.

In a response to the “editors note”, Millers expose was about Krauthammer, and his reaction to the Jones issue. In fact, Miller tried to justify Jones’s actions.

John, I have to admit… I have on occasion watched Beck, O’Reilly and Fox but.. well, this is hard to explain, but my elitist education rejects them as the dross and dreck that they are. Now, I understand that, to some, these ‘outlets’ (aptly named because that’s what they are, outlets for effluent) are quite convincing, and as a liberal I am bound to say “to each his own” but please, please, don’t expect us to take their warblings seriously because some fool in ACORN was “entrapped”. It really is just silly.

There has been so much published and reported lies on Fox news it is astounding. Thank God more of us are studying the issues and are more engage now that there is an African American President and an administrations who actually care for the American people. Glen Beck is such a lier, Every other word the man speaks is a lie of half a lie. He is trying to bully the American people into believing much of his garbage. Beck has not exposed any issues or anyone but himself. He is self centered and a true bigot in every sense of the word. If he could do harm phusically and get away with it, he would at any given time in his miserable life. What w waste of a human, I am sure as i do millions turns the channel the minute he spreads his stinking stench opf lies on the air.

I can tell by your mastery of the English language you are a well educated person. So surely you can give an example of a lie Beck has told. I am sure you can explain how his books rate No. 1 on the best selling list of the NY Times as do most Conservative books unlike those written by the leftwing loonies.
Perhaps you can explain why he is the third most listened to radio program on the air today, Limbaugh being No. 1, and Hannity being No. 2. Then you can surely explain why the O’Reilly Factor has been No. 1 on the cable news work for 8 years in a row. Then, and again I am sure, you can explain why your heroes like Chris Matthews only garner 200,000 veiwers, and Maddow, Olberman, and Schultz, garner even less.
You see, it must be that all of the idiots in the world are watching Fox (an estimated 98 million a week), and listening to people like Beck, while the truely educated, and wise, people such as yourself must not be watching, or listening, to anything. That is why you are so well “informed”.
JAN, what kind of idiot are you? Don’t you realize that the truth of a bigot’s statements is determined by the number of people listening to or reading that statement multiplied by the amount of money he, she or it earns? Don’t you realize this is AMERICA! where everyone’s opinion is judged by the extent to which if corresponds to one’s inbred oh, sorry I meant ingrained preconceptions? Now me, I’m a broad shoulders, hootin’ shootin’ fearless kunservative man, a REAL man and when my Big Bigots get big ratings I know lots of other real men and women out there have EXACTLY the same beliefs as what I have and their high ratings make me feel validated and well, right. Right?
In other words, Shortall once again fails to have any logical response, or any intelligent response, and once again shows his “desire” to have a “rational” debate with comments like “when my Big Bigots get big ratings I know lots of other real men and women out there have EXACTLY the same beliefs as what I have” rather then give any real examples of this strange phenomena.
Actually ShortyInAll, the fact is that more people in this country share the beliefs of Conservatives then that of loonies such as yourself. It is your lack of integrity, and those like you, that will prevent your ideology from surviving for any length of time without the use of force.
I wonder if Shorty, or any of the others, can explain just how the “fools” of ACORN were “entrapped”? Do any of you know, or is it just something you read on a blog?
Before you get started, you should really look up the legal meaning of the word “entrap”, and then try to find out if there was any “expectation of privacy” in a public office where anyone could have heard the conversation. Have you ever seen those signs about “auditory privacy” in a doctors office, or other offices?
Sophie Scholl was a young German woman during the 1940s. She saw the deterioration of her country under the iron rule of the Nazi regime, and she determined to make a difference. She and her brother, with a small group of friends, began to peacefully protest not only the actions but the values that the Nazis had forced upon the nation.
Sophie and others were arrested and executed for speaking out against the evil in their land. Although she wasn't anxious to die, she saw that the con- ditions in her country had to be addressed – even if it meant her death.
Sophie's story raises a critical question for us as well. What would we be willing to die for? Jim Elliot, Nate Saint, Pete Fleming, Roger Youderian, and Ed McCully gave their lives in the jungles of South America because they were committed to spreading the gospel. Elliot revealed the heart that drove such sacrifice when he wrote, “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose. ” The apostle Paul put it this way: “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Phil. 1:21).

Hate to say it, Trap, but you’re right. When someone does something illegal and gets caught, the first defense is entrapment. Two examples were very public last week: Attorneys for the guy who tried to blackmail David Letterman are hinting at or alleging entrapment. Attorneys for the Denver terrorist allege the same thing.
Innocent until proven guilty is a legal status. But that legal status doesn’t mean they didn’t do it. I don’t need to wait to see a jury make up their collective mind to reach a judgment in the weight of the evidence I see. OJ’s innocence doesn’t mean he didn’t do it…
