What a great presidential race we’re witnessing. Here we are, deciding between the most untraditional set of candidates our country’s ever seen.
The best thing about this race is that stereotypes must be set aside. Whatever our political views, we are being forced to examine our preconceptions and prejudices. ‘Is McCain too old?’ ‘Obama too inexperienced?’ ‘Can Palin be an effective vice president and mother of five?’
So much to consider.
Each political party is talking about bringing change to Washington. And the American public is longing for it. With the economy as perhaps the foremost issue, we’re all struggling to pay our mortgages and household bills. But why wait for the politicians in Washington? Deschutes County can be at the forefront of change. I’m directing this request to local employers. With so few jobs and so many candidates, I’m asking employers to reexamine their ideas about what makes a good employee. Some applicants may appear to be older, a different race, or “overqualified” but that doesn’t mean we aren’t the right person for the job. Most of us jobseekers are hard working, dedicated, ethical, possess business savvy, and would make stellar employees. Yet, because we don’t seem to fit the idea of the stereotypical employee, we’re passed over – typically without a second thought.
So, employers, please take this opportunity to stretch beyond your comfort level and open your minds. Take time to scrutinize resumes and listen to us. Change – it can be better than business as usual!

Cost of labor seems to be the only factor:
How little does it cost to fill a position–not how productive will that position be with the person hired.
We have to wonder and ask ourselves why we as a people have gotten so screwed in the last 8 years? Bush and Dick, now it makes sense to me. Two sex organs eventually lead to screwing. However they were not screwing eachother, but our whole economy.
Bush and Cheney knew ahead of time their agenda was to ship jobs offshore for cheap labor and help all of their campaign buddies no matter what the cost was going to be for the American people. They knew they were going to start a war to get oil and sacrifice some “collateral damage” as Dick Cheney refers to our troops as, as long as he himself does not have to run away from the enemy with a faulty rifle and can sit in the comfort of his office, have access to free health care and start more crap.
Back to my point. Bush and Dick planned and knew they had to distract the American people and knew fully well that their plan would eventually make all of their friends greedy rich. They decided to deregulate all of the banks and laid off 90% of the SEC who govern how money is managed in the USA. Further they knew all of the good jobs were being sent offshore, so they created a housing boom which they anticipated would fall apart in a decade and then being able to blame whoever was in the white house for this mess and point fingers. However Dicky and Bush got a big awakening when this plan fell apart at the seems and people woke up and realized they spent 4 Trillion dollars on a war which only benefitted Halliburton and a few others. No one was allowed to bid the contracts in Iraq and they were all conveniently given to Dicky’s old company. I am sure he made out like a bandit on this, all at the expense of American human lives, now having taken over 4000 men and women.
Dicky suggested to the Armed Forces six weeks ago that “they” as in Generals pick out 20 of their best Navy Seals and dress them up like IRANIANS and have them attack a US ship and then kill all of the seals and set it up as an attack to start a war with IRAN. The generals were quoted as saying” Mr. Cheney, this is not high school and there is no way in hell that I am going to intentionally kill my own men to create a reason for you to start another war.” The generals all told this story to the press and were disgusted at this man having this idea and stacked it up as just a few more “casualties” in the collateral damage of the war and one of the other highly decorated Generals told Mr. Cheney ” Mr. Cheney this is not high school nor some game or private war for you to wage to get richer” Mr. Cheney commented in return that his idea was brilliant and told them it all offered them job security as if to threaten these Generals.
Lets all make the new president, hopefully Obama prosecute Bush and Cheney for treason, seize all of their bank accounts and put all of the crooks in prison for life.
We need to all wake up and realize that WE THE PEOPLE run this country, not large corporations being rewarded with our money for having made poor decisions. Bush was grateful for the government stepping in with this bail out plan as it took the pressure off of him and he was totally let off the hook.
The real enemy and threat to our nation current are sitting in the white house. They are criminals who have shipped more jobs off shore, taken away our rights to freedom of speech, robbed us all of the American dream and are currently plotting an exit strategy that will ruin us for decades into the future.
We all as a nation and as FREE citizens need to abolish the Patriot Act. Some believe that this next election will be put off due to Marshall Law taking effect and allowing Bush and Cheney to invade Iraq as when we voted in this Patriot Act we also voted to have all of our rights taken away.
LETS ALL ACT NOW, ENCOURAGE YOUR FRIENDS AND EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO VOTE FOR OBAMA.
