We are writing this to set the record straight in reply to the Source Editor’s note re: “Good Bridge, Bad Bridge” (Opinion 3/1).

The cost estimate for the Option B bridge over the Deschutes near First Street Rapids was quoted by the Source’s editor as being between $430,00 and $575,000. Actually the figure is substantially more. Bend Parks and Recreation Department reports that the estimated cost range to plan, design and build the bridge and path connections to Revere and to First Street is $651,789 to $851,789.

This figure does not include any Davis Park development or parking improvements to either side.
