Has anyone else noticed that the jumbo political signs popping up around Central Oregon for Republican candidates (Tim Knopp, Jason Conger, Gene Whisnant, etc.) fail to mention their political affiliation? I would be naive to assume they are so ashamed of what the Republican Party has become that they want to distance themselves from it.

More likely, knowing they have the votes of Republican loyalists, they are attempting to build name recognition with independent and uninformed voters in hopes of getting “I’ve heard that name”votes at election time. More of the same from the party of George W. Bush.

  1. This is true, however I’ve noticed this on both sides of the isle, so don’t be so quick to point fingers. I think all candidates should denote which party they are affiliated with on their signs. Or the signs for different parties should be a particular combination of colors to make it clearly obvious.
