As The Bulletin searches high and low to find political columnists who mirror the local newspaper’s incredibly conservative viewpoints, it probably needs to be pointed out what a fine job they have done with their addition of Bill Kristol. This is his most recent insight (Sunday, Feb. 3):
“Look, the only people for Hillary Clinton are the Democratic establishment and white women. The Democratic establishment – it would be crazy for the Democratic Party to follow an establishment that’s led it to defeat year after year. White women are a problem, that’s, you know – we all live with that.”

Almquist: Apparently, you didn’t get it. That says volumes more about you than it does about Bill Kristol. Perhaps you should subscribe to The Weekly Standard.
Bill Kristol brilliant? Well, if one peruses his accomplishments, it seems thus. As a professor of Political Science, who taught politics at the University Of Penn. and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and then started a magazine that he edits, The Weekly Standard, it becomes difficult to argue otherwise.
An observer, such as this Almquist, who views the Bulletin’s political stance as “incredibly conservative,” would understandably be confused, perhaps stunned.
The view from the extreme left suffers from a certain amount of distortion because of the great distance even to the political center. A telescope might help.
Better yet, subscribe to the Weekly Standard, become enlightened, change for the better.
