Iโ€™m new to town and am really perplexed by Mt. Bachelor’s “condition-based pricing.” We had friends fly here for MLK (Weekend) because we love Bend and the mountain and wanted to share it with them. ย Was shocked that the crappiest ski day I have ever had in my 35-plus years cost $70. There were really only two lifts running, no visibility and miserable conditions (yes, I get I maybe should have stayed home).

I get that it was a “holiday,” but really? ย Mt. Bachelor should reevaluate this policy, especially if they want return visitors. Also, they said they were offering everyone a free mid-week pass because the weather stunk, but actually it was a 2-for-1 ticket (if I have to pay for one, I don’t consider it free) and it doesn’t help visitors who aren’t here during the week. Next time, offer a free hot cocoa or something or just be decent and have the prices truly based on conditions! โ€“ Lindsay

  1. you knew policy ahead of time you did buy one get one free you did ski how many runs you made was not stated but if more than one run was made that is like eating a steak and then complaining it was tough, you knew all variables before skiing bachelor never promises the conditions you choose to ski in

  2. Actually Bach has been doing a pretty good job this year, in my opinion.

I know that the weather was not great, but the hill has to make money. Sorry that your friends got burnt, but you might tell them next time to come up in April or May when the weather is consistently far better. Anyone who comes here in December, January or February should know they are risking some of the most extreme weather they can find in the northwest. (Ya gotta just love those hard storm days)

Last but not least (here is where I am selfish) I hope Bach keeps charging the high holiday price, I like the current cost of my pass.
