During the 8 years of the Bush Administration, Republicans told Democrats they were un-patriotic, un-American and didn’t support the troops if they questioned or didn’t support the President. The same thing applies to you, Joe Wilson, if you don’t support President Obama YOU ARE UN-PATRIOTIC, UN-AMERICAN, AND YOU DON’T SUPPORT THE TROOPS.
If you hate America so much, then get the Hell out!

I agree with Mr “T” that if standards of “patriotism” are to be applied to criticism of Bush then they should also be applied to Obama – though unfortunately they are ridiculous standards in both cases. Patriotism is a close relative of Nationalism and I’m not a fan of either because they seek to interfere with one’s capacity for higher cognitive judgment. A president, no matter who he or she is, should be criticized when wrong and this criticism cannot be construed to be criticism of “the troops”, “the nation” or “the flag”. A leader beyond criticism is a feature of totalitarian states (Hitler, Stalin, Mao): let’s not aspire to their standards.
