Ben Dullum is a physical therapist and local outdoor enthusiast. Originally from Minnesota, he has been living in Bend for over 10 years where he works at the local hospital in the ICU and also at a breathing focused outpatient clinic, Academy West Breathing Performance. When not working, you will find Ben skate skiing when weather allows or trail running. He has run the marathon distance over 300 times, completed 100+ mile efforts over 30 times, and won the Oregon 200 twice setting the course record both times. At the onset of 2026, he set his eyes on a new challenge: the Oregon section of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). The standing record had not been broken for over a decade. In July of 2026, averaging about 70 miles a day, Ben ran the 460-mile route, with over 65,000 feet of gain and loss, in 6 days, 1 hour and 40 minutes. Ben did not only break the record; he crushed it—by 59 hours! Applying functional breathing, he ran the entire distance while breathing only through the nose.
