I would like to respectfully respond to Kenneth Judkins' “respectful” presentation of his complaints against the Source's H. Bruce Miller.

There's lots of talk about the opposition to Obama's health care plans, calling it communist, assailing it as an elimination of human freedom. But honestly, where's the problem? Insurance companies have ethics panels that determine if end-of-life procedures are worth the cost.

I was disgusted to read the article on the freeing of journalists Laura Lee and Euna Ling.
They had risked their lives to research the female slave trade (sex trafficking) in North Korea.

Over my lifetime, I have watched personal liberty and freedom slowly ebb away by what appeared to be reasonable explanations about what was “for the public good” from our federal government.
But I am horrified to see how quickly, in the last few months, the federal government has encroached on so many of our individual rights and freedoms – to the point of total socialism.

There's a tendency among the Right to bash government programs. We often hear accusations such as:
“Medicare is a failure”
The goal of Medicare is to provide healthcare services to the elderly and other selected groups.

This week's letter comes from Thiel Larson who hits on a topic that's been blowing up on the Daily Show and the Blue Oregon site, all of whom have been asking what happened to a respectful exchange of ideas at town hall meetings. Case in point, Sen.

For decades we on the “right” have stood by and watched as “liberal” mobs have destroyed buildings, attacked individuals, and seen laws passed to prevent individuals from expressing their views. Add to this the denigration of those on the “right” by the mainstream media, and one should be able to recognize the frustration felt by the common person on the street.

I recently had occasion to travel both downtown and to the Old Mill District for a mother-daughter movie date. Our plan to beat the heat was to grab lunch and then duck into an air-conditioned theatre to escape the soaring temperatures.

A perfect crime can be defined as a crime undetected or not attributed to the actual perpetrator. To most of us, it is simply a crime someone gets away with.
