Crux Fermentation Project yesterday announced the reopening of its iconic pub lawn
following a comprehensive renovation designed to better serve the evolving needs of the Bend community. Long regarded as one of the city’s most beloved gathering spaces, the updated outdoor area blends thoughtful design, sustainability, and flexibility, ensuring it remains a central hub for locals and visitors alike for years to come.
“This property has been one of Bend’s favorite gathering places for years, and as the city grows,
we felt it deserved an investment that helps it grow with the community,” said Steve Augustyn,
CEO of Crux Fermentation Project. “This evolution of our outdoor space makes it more
accessible, more sustainable, and fun. For everything from families spending an afternoon here
to friends connecting or larger groups visiting Bend. Ultimately, the goal is simple: preserve the
spirit of this place while making sure it continues serving Bend for decades to come.” This
renovation reflects a commitment to maintaining the character and spirit that has made the Crux
lawn a cornerstone of Bend’s social scene. It was proudly put together in partnership with the
property owners, the Gehrs family, who are local to Bend. The space is built for the Bend
community for years to come.
Joining the Crux lawn this season are several locally owned food trucks, including A Broken
Angel, Alpine Smash Co, Mountain Mahalo Shaved Ice, and Red Road Pizza Co. Local favorite
El Sancho Tacos will also remain at the Crux lawn.
Crux invites the community to celebrate the refreshed Crux lawn on Saturday, June 6, from 4–8
PM. The evening will feature a Vintage Rendezvous hosted by Vintage House 81, bringing
together a curated mix of vintage and modern garments for sale alongside great music and an
energetic atmosphere.
Enjoy beats from DJ See Alice while you grab a drink, browse the clothing racks, and take in an
evening of community, music, and timeless style on the new lawn.
