Mt. Bachelor and the Bend-La Pine Education Foundation are partnering to host Lift Up Local Schools, a new summer event that brings families and community members together for an unforgettable afternoon on the mountain while raising funds for education.

Taking place on Sunday, July 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Lift Up Local Schools offers discounted scenic chairlift tickets, with 100% of ticket proceeds benefiting the Bend-La Pine Education Foundation. Mt. Bachelor will also match up to $5,000 in food and beverage sales at Pine Marten Lodge during the event.

Funds raised will support Classroom Enrichment Grants, enabling teachers to purchase materials and facilitate activities that create unique, hands-on learning experiences for students.

“We have been doing Ski 4 Schools–a winter fundraising campaign for the Bend-La Pine Education Foundation–for more than two decades, and itโ€™s been really successful, so we thought, why not carry that momentum into summer,” said Presley Quon, Mt. Bachelorโ€™s communications and community relations manager. “Lift Up Local Schools is a great opportunity to support educators and students while experiencing the resort through a completely different lens.”

While Mt. Bachelor is typically covered in snow from November through May and averages more than 400 inches of snowfall annually, the summer months offer a completely different experience, with scenic views, abundant wildlife, and a variety of outdoor activities. From hiking through volcanic landscapes to mountain biking and ziplining across popular winter ski runs, there is plenty to explore.

Guests attending Lift Up Local Schools are encouraged to hike, sightsee, enjoy lunch at Pine Marten Lodge, and take unlimited scenic chairlift rides throughout the day.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $17 for youth and must be purchased online. Children ages 5 and under ride free but require an online waiver signed by a parent or guardian.

Representatives from the Bend-La Pine Education Foundation will be at Pine Marten Lodge from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. selling raffle tickets for Mt. Bachelor adventures, including winter lift tickets, whitewater rafting, ziplining, and more. Anyone can enter the raffle online and attendance is not required to win.

“Mt. Bachelor has been one of our most steadfast partners for more than 20 years through Ski 4 Schools, so it’s fitting they’re the ones helping us bring that same energy to summer with Lift Up Local Schools,” said Michele Emery, president of the Bend-La Pine Education Foundation. “This isn’t just a fun day on the mountainโ€”it’s classroom supplies, hands-on projects, and new opportunities for students throughout our district. We’re grateful, and we can’t wait to see the community show up.”
