Registration is now open for the 2026 Summer Driver Education Program offered through High Desert Driver Education.
Beginning July 6, the program will provide high school students with the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to become safe and responsible drivers. Classes will be offered at Caldera High School, Summit High School, and Ridgeview High School.
The program is open to students who are at least 15 years old and possess a valid driving permit.
Driver education plays an important role in preparing young drivers for the responsibilities of the road. Through classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel experience, students gain practical skills that support safe driving habits and informed decision-making.
Tuition for the program is $799. To help increase access for families, scholarships of up to $200 may be available for eligible students.
Families can find class schedules, registration information, and additional program details at hddrivered.org. Questions regarding scholarship opportunities can be directed to Rachel White at rachel.white@hdesd.org.
