Mosley Wotta on OPB Tonight

Mosley Wotta appears on OPB’s Oregon Art Beat tonight.

UPDATE: I corrected the time to 8pm, which is now what the OPB website shows.
If you were at the WinterFringe show last year — the pre-WinterFest warmup concert — you may have noticed a camera crew floating around the premises capturing a vibrant set from Bend’s own Mosley Wotta.

No Same-Sex Marriage Measure on the Oregon Ballot in 2012

Basic Rights Oregon announces that it will not place a marriage equality measure on the 2012 ballot.

I wrote extensively in this week’s paper about the move in Central Oregon — and throughout the state — to test the waters for a ballot measure that would negate 2004’s Measure 36, the move that defined marriage in our state constitution as between a man and a woman.

This ditty isn’t going to win a CMA, but it’s worth watching if only to puzzle over the montage of disparate cameos, Craig Ferguson, Carrot Top and Ted Nugent all in the same video.

A joint collaboration between Marvel and Hasbro (which always means a toy line tie-in), Jem ran from 1985-88, and was an animated soap opera about a band with a holographic lead singer who is actually the head of a music company who disguises herself with the help of a pair of holograph earrings, and it’s all very complicated, and I don’t really feel like explaining it further. The point is that it was AWWWWESOME and “totally outrageous.
