On May 18, 1980 at 8:32 am, Mt. St. Helens erupted.  Below are pictures of the mountain before and during the eruption which sent plumes of ash and smoke worldwide.  Yakima and Spokane were covered with ash and darkness as the eruption continued that day.  Several eruptions later, Portland was covered with up to threeโ€ฆ

Deschutes River Alliance sends suit notice to PGE
