If you haven’t had enough with music competitions in the wake of the three-month Last Band Standing, here’s another one you can cast your vote in — the Toyota Music Rock the Space contest.

Featured in the finals of this contest is Adventure Galley a band that began its career in Bend before heading over to Eugene. Brock Grenfell, the band’s drummer, stopped in to tell us about the contest, which had some 17,000 entrants all competing for $10,000 in prizes, which includes Fender guitar gear and a contract with MySpace Records.

If you’ve never heard Adventure Galley, you should give them a listen. The band has the highly elevated sound of the Arcade Fire, but with a more electrified feel. Their latest EP, The Right Place to Be, was recorded at the famed Jackpot! Recording Studio in Portland, and includes the song “Addict” — the track that made them one of the 10 bands remaining in this contest.

So, the band needs some votes and would appreciate for you to click on over to the contest’s page and give them some love.ย  Voting ends on July 26th, so get on it.
