If you haven’t taken your lunch/coffee/dinner break yet, let us make a few recommendations. Today isย Bites for Rights,ย which means that participating restaurants are contributing a portion of their proceeds toย Basic Rights Oregonย the statewide LGBT rights orgโ€”when you eat there today.

Despite the recentย marriage equality victory,ย there’s still work to be doneย to secure full equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Oregonians. And if all it takes to help is to stuff our faces with one of Sparrow Bakery’s addictive ocean rolls, well, we’re sold. (I’ll take my good karma to go, thanks.)

To make your lunch money go further, visit one of theย participating local establishmentsย  (An aside: We have more places to choose from than any cityโ€”aside from Portland and Eugene.)

Broken Top Bottle Shop & Ale Cafe
Pizza Mondo
Strictly Organic Coffee Co (SW Bond)
Strictly Organic Coffee Co (SW Powerhouse)

The Sparrow Bakery

If that wasn’t enough motivation to eat out today (as if you really need an excuse), you could even win a prize via BRO’s Bites for Rightsย social media contest.ย

So what are you waiting for? Go eat! (And, if you’re so inclined, drop some ocean rolls by the Source office.)
