If you haven’t taken your lunch/coffee/dinner break yet, let us make a few recommendations. Today is Bites for Rights, which means that participating restaurants are contributing a portion of their proceeds to Basic Rights Oregon the statewide LGBT rights org—when you eat there today.

Despite the recent marriage equality victory, there’s still work to be done to secure full equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Oregonians. And if all it takes to help is to stuff our faces with one of Sparrow Bakery’s addictive ocean rolls, well, we’re sold. (I’ll take my good karma to go, thanks.)

To make your lunch money go further, visit one of the participating local establishments  (An aside: We have more places to choose from than any city—aside from Portland and Eugene.)
