Tomorrow is the third Saturday in April, which means, of course, that it’s Record Store Day. This holiday, which began in 2007, is a national celebration of independent record stores – a medium that has been slowly going the way of the buffalo in the past decade, as evidenced by the fact that we only have one independent store left in Bend.

That store, of course, is downtown’s Ranch Records on Wall Street. Head down there and check out the festivities and celebrate the fact that there’s at least one place left in Bend to buy CDs and LPs that isn’t called Best Buy.

Ranch will be raffling off a few hundred bucks worth of vinyl and also providing live music from Mosley Wotta. And there will also be all sorts of special releases for sale. Store opens at 10 a.m. raffle is at 1 p.m.
