Next summer’s peaceful days at the lake, silently taking in the serene natural surroundings are already ruined.

A local company, Cascade Cycleboats, is manufacturing the latest in beer/foot-fueled technology, a water-based equivalent to the ever-annoying pedal pub. A press release to the Source explained,

As riders pedal on individual cycle stations, together they propel a large paddle wheel in the back of the boat. The driver of the boat sits in a captain’s chair at the back of the boat to steer and operate the electric motor when needed (i.e. to navigate in and out of dock).

Guess how much they cost? Go ahead, just guess.

$85,000! For the base model! A beastly vessel which has eight cycle stations for peddling, drinking and we assume—if it’s anything like its land-bound cousin—shouting.
