The kind and always hip folks at PoetHouse Art are hosting a screening of the acclaimed documentary Beautiful Losers, which tells the story of the evolution of street art in the US.

The film covers graffiti art and other mediums influenced by the punk, hip-hop and anti-establishment movements found in many American cities beginning in the 1980s and continuing today. Naturally, Shephard Fairey – best known for his “Hope” portrait of President Obama – is featured in the doc, as are a collection of other prominent DIY artists.

The event is slated to begin at 8pm tonight (Thursday) at the PoetHouse Art, located at 55 NW Minnesota Ave, above the Wine Shop.
