Since the sun is still shining, this week’s Friday Mixtape keeps the pop music flowing.

Raining down plucky synth and buttery vocals, songs from L.A. power rockers Smallpools, and Sweden’s art pop outfit Be The Bear, this playlist is as crisp and sunny as they come.

Corvallis native yOya turns in “Fool’s Gold,” a new song for 2014 with sweet piano melodies and lifted harmonies perfect for a spring sunset and the pillow-y rock track “All That I Needed” from Fremont—the side project of Nat Johnson and Dave Gulick of Portland’s pop rock band Derby—adds a song that is perfect for waking up to on a dew-frosted morning.

Along with EDM-backed island music from Party Supplies and hand-clap rock from The Sun Parade, even if a small shower does wash over the High Desert, this mixtape ought to mitigate it quite nicely.
