After a successful inaugural year, Last Band Standing is returning for a second addition of the local battle of the bands. Last year more than 100 local bands and solo artists applied for the competition and after all was said and done, Mosley Wotta walked away with the top prize.
There’s a few changes this year in that the competition, which is produced by Combined Communications, is moving to the Century Center, which as far as I’m concerned, is one of Bend’s best indoor music spots and seems like a perfect fit for this eclectic music event. Also, the event is now free. You’ll be able to pick up free tickets and your voting ballot at the show’s sponsor businesses.
If you’re a band looking to compete for more than $30,000 in prizes (including a record label offer and recording time), applications open on March 21, so get your demos ready. As of now, the competition is planning on taking 32 bands.
Opening rounds begin on May 6 and the contest finishes on July 8.
UPDATE: Check http://www.clear1017.fm/ on March 21 for information on how to apply.

So, where does a band send there demo and/or get the low down?
Added that info above. There isn’t much info for bands yet, but that will be available come March 21.
Hope we can actually get a “band” to win the Last Band Standing contest this year, not some recycled Vanilla Ice-Marky Mark-wanna-be pop singer “rapping” with a group of bored studio musicians. What does the sound of one hand clapping sound like after a concert?
