President Obama will be in Portland Tuesday for a speech and a pair of private fundraisers, according to his campaign. The visit is part of a four-state Western swing for the President who will also be in Washington, California and Nevada next week.

Obamaโ€™s campaign said that he would attend a “grassroots eventโ€ in PDX to โ€œlay out his vision to rebuild the economy from the middle-out, cut taxes for small businesses and reduce the countryโ€™s deficit.โ€ Obama is also scheduled to appear later at a private fundraiser at the Portland Museum of Art. Tickets for that even range from $500 to $5,000, according to the Oregonianโ€™s Jeff Mapes.

While neither Washington, California, or Oregon are expected to be battleground states in the November election, they do serve as part of Obamaโ€™s broader fundraising base, an area in which the President has trailed his challenger Republican Mitt Romney in recent months, though Obama still holds the overall edge in fundraising. ย
