Reporter and author Jeremy Evans will sign copies of his book In Search of Powder: The Story of Americaโ€™s Disappearing Ski Bum tonight at Between the Covers on Bond Street.

A former ski bum, Evans draws on his own experience as young college graduate living to ski in the Tahoe area as a launching point to explore the changing dynamics and demographics of the Western ski culture. At the heart is an economic shift that has marginalized the once ubiquitous post-college ski bum in the lift lines as ski areas have transformed from small regionally based operations into portfolio assets for profit-driven corporations like Vail Resorts and Intrawest that are more interested in real estate development than vertical feet.

Read the Wall Street Journalโ€™s review of Evans book here and pick up a signed copy tonight before hitting the mountain tomorrow. The event starts at 6:30 at BTC, 645 NW Delaware.
