While charging through the chaotic weekly nightmare that is the production cycle here at the Source, there was something looming in my mind: โJust think, by Wednesday youโll be jamming out to The Heavy at the Silver Moon.โ
Yeah, about thatโฆ I just got off the phone with Cassie Moore, the Booking Manager at the Silver Moon, who said that the show is cancelled. According to Moore, the bandโs management wanted more sound and production equipment than the Moon could realistically provide. After all, it is a small room, but when the venue tried to revamp the budget to accommodate the new requests, the band pulled out, canceling the show.
Bummed? Yes. The Heavy is a solid soulful rock band that would have given our music community a much-needed injection of unique sounds. But hey, letโs move on. Iโm going to shift my plans and go see Evil Dead: The Musical (which finishes up this weekend).

The music scene here blows. Let’s get the TVs out of the bars and get some decent sound equipment so we can get some decent acts in here.
Silvermoon- shame on you!! for adding a lame-ass flat screen instead of becoming a viable live music venue.
Good point Pedro,
Everyone knows that sound systems and tv’s are completely incompatible. It’s one or the other. Like Burgers and fries, my man.
