Tuesday nights typically arenโ€™t the most fun times of the week, but tonight is an exception. These United States, the much-talked-about folkie indie rock band from a combination of Washington, DC and Kentucky, is landing at the Silver Moon Brewing Co. tonight.

Hereโ€™s what we wrote on the Our Picks page of last weekโ€™s print edition of the Source.

Far and away one of the coolest bookings thus far this fall (other than the Deer Tick show youโ€™ll read about below), the raucous indie roots rockers of These United States are descending on the Silver Moon. The bandโ€™s sound combines Americana influences with a full rock attack โ€“ check out the bandโ€™s new record, Everything Touches Everything, to get a taste of why things are looking bright for this act. $5. 9pm. Silver Moon Brewing Co., 24 NW Greenwood Ave.

What we couldnโ€™t show on that page was this music video for the bandโ€™s track, โ€œHonor Amongst Thieves.โ€ Here it is:

OK, Iโ€™ll either see you out at that show or at Ranch Records, where Iโ€™m headed soon here to get the new Pearl Jam album. Today feels like Christmasโ€ฆexcept itโ€™s September and Eddie Vedder is subbing in for Santa Claus. Listen to the album’s first single, “The Fixer” here.
