So yeah, that Built to Spill show at the Domino Room last night easily hopped into my top five shows of the year list and I’m now endlessly obsessed with the guitar work of Doug Martsch after having forgotten its majesty during my two-and-a-half-year hiatus from seeing the band live.

If you were there, you saw the band crank out favorites from across their discography, including standbys like “Car” and “Distopian Dream Girl” and material from the latest BTS studio record, There is No Enemy. Check out the video below.

During the show, there was this dude standing next to me who looked vaguely familiar, but not familiar enough for me nudge andย  say hi. I didn’t think much about it, my focus fixed on the band, but then he turned and passed by and I realized it was Matthew Fox from television’s Lost. I wasn’t starstruck, but rather ridden with guilt because one time I wrote a really, really mean blog post about him and now I was standing next to the guy and he’s an actual human and he knew a lot of lyrics to Built to Spill songs, which made him doubly human. So I felt bad…so bad that I won’t even link to that blog I mentioned.

So yeah, Built to Spill killed it and I’d like to apologize to Matthew Fox. Here’s some video.
