Nights like Saturday night in Bend always make me feel extremely fortunate to live here. Based on the quality and variety of live music alone, we live in a great music community. Saturday night I headed down to Velvet to check out Franchot Tone, the Bend-based singer-songwriter-producer who may best be known for being one half of Culver City Dub Collective.

Though they were confined to a small corner near the front door at Velvet, Tone, accompanied by Nate Berry and Craig Brown on drums and bass, played an excellent set of feel-good pop-reggae tunes that had listeners swaying to the beat. Tone definitely won more than a few new fans last night. Check out the video below for peek at last night’s show.ย

  1. Love it!! Franchot and I have co-wrote a ton of music together and he is an amazing songwriter and producer and he is someone to watch as he moves his way to the top. Look for his new EP coming soon!

  2. Not only one of the most polished, professional & fun acts in town. They are also just really great guys. Franchot helped record & produce my CD. They are always looking to help others when they can. No Egos here. Just great players!
