Is it me, or does the High Plains Drifter look like he’s performing at the senior center talent show. More evidence that the GOP should just keep playing to their strengths, Blind Fear and Righteous Anger and leave the comedy to those who still have a sense of humor.

just watched the Eastwood video again . So… here’s what i heard, again: the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were not good moves for anybody. Perhaps he believes that war and the slaughter, rapine and destruction that is war is almost always a tragic mistake. Eastwood also said that you and I- We- are not the servants, slaves or employees of the government, rather that the government is our employee and servant. So i ask myself, what offends the contemporary American liberal here? Lack of respect for authority? His anti-war, pro-freedom and human rights position? Poor American liberals, in politics today, they are the tribe of the pro-war, pro-establishment. What a reversal from the 60’s. Perhaps because Eastwood spoke with a bit of a quiver in his voice, that was offensive? Well, i’d be shaky talking in front of that many people, and ad-libbing to boot. Perhaps liberals aren’t happy with anything other than a Big Daddy figure “orating” off of a teleprompter words intended to create emotional responses, but actually containing no depth of meaning? or is it just because the guy is 82?
So we’re supposed to believe that the anti-war, Anti-Big Brother, anti-establishment, party is the Republicans? On what planet?
Jeremy, don’t buy into the “democrat or republican” game… use your own perception and judgement- both democrats and republicans are generally the same.
You know when off-script or off-teleprompter, he had a real tough time even completing a sentence or even a cohenrent thought. The “urss” the “ums” the “you knows.” Very incomprehensible.
But enough about Obama.
I’ll give Clint a little slack here just as Obama’s lapdogs in the media and at the Source look the other way at Obama/Biden’s gaffs. These are the same people who thought it hilarious when left leaning comics would rake W over the coals using the same vulgar inferences. And then same people either hoisted these “comics” on a pedastal for “speaking truth to power” (or some such nonsense) or tacitly approved their antics by the silence of their printed pages.
The real issue the libs have with Clint is that someone dare give back the same dose of medicine these sycophants spew.
And BTW, as a group, libs have the least sense of humor of anyone. All I hear is pessimism, whining, and elitist conceit. All you had to do was MSNBC/CNN. We all witnessed this and more as most of the MSNBC commentators had on-air nervous breakdowns while covering the convention. Well actually very, very few would have been watching them, but you get the point.
to put it another way…say you don’t like Coke, does that mean you like Pepsi? Perhaps it might mean that you should take some beautiful organic berries from the garden and whip up a smoothie at home. get the analogy?
