What in the World: Domestic Homicide, Missing Teen Found, Hackers and Spies


TRAGEDY:
A man has been taken into custody following a three hour standoff with police Wednesday in Texas. He's being held on charges he shot and killed four children and two adults at least some of whom are believed to be family members of his estranged wife, who he allegedly entered the Houston-area home looking for. The sole survivor, a 15-year-old girl, is in critical condition after being shot in the head. (CNN)

RELIEF: Missing Camas teen Anji Dean was found safe Wednesday evening—at Clackamas Town Center—after disturbing notes left behind before her disappearance led her parents and police to believe she was a victim of sex trafficking  Police are investigating the circumstances of her disappearance. SPIES: Chinese hackers broke into a network containing the personal information of federal employees back in March, officials reported today. It's not clear how much sensitive information they hackers may have found before being discovered and blocked. In related news, the Germans are still pretty pissed about the U.S. spying on Chancellor Angela Merkel  and millions of other Germans). Their government is now demanding that the top U.S. intelligence official stationed there be expelled. (NY Times)
