Good morning, World! Here’s what’s happening in Friday’s news…

THE OLYMPICS ARE HAPPENING! Despite serious concerns about security, homophobia and preparedness of Sochi Russia, and photographic evidence that its a total crap-shoot over there right now, and the trending hashtag #SochiProblems…the Opening Ceremony for the 2014 Olympic Games will take place tonight, aired at 8 pm PST.

Our local Olympian, Laurenne Ross, was the first woman to test the downhill ski course that was quickly revamped following athlete safety concerns. Way to go, Sochi. In other news…GO LAURENNE GO!

Locally…it’s snowing! And it looks like it will be for a while.
