Oregon State Senator Anthony Broadman (D-Bend) and Representative Breese-Iverson (R- Prineville) co-chair the bipartisan, bicameral Central Oregon Legislative Caucus, to facilitate collaborative policy-making and improve the livelihood of Central Oregonians.

The caucus priorities for the 2026 session focus on the region’s needs in Economic Development, Housing and Community Services, and Emergency Preparedness.

“These caucus priorities reflect our focus on continuing the collaborative work towards building the safe and prosperous region Central Oregonians deserve,” said Senator Broadman (D-Bend).

Among top priorities:

Economic Development & Regional Competitiveness:

  • HB 4084 – Retain and grow Oregon businesses, catalyze job creation and accelerateeconomic growth
  • Recreational Waiver Reform

Housing & Community Services:

  • HB 4035 – One time UGB expansions to increase housing production
  • Invest in Shelter Funding to help people transition from homelessness into stablehousing
  • Funding for OSU Cascades Student Health and Recreation Center

Emergency Preparedness & Natural Resources:

  • HB 4156 – Reliable funding for rural emergency response
  • HB 4144 – Reducing battery–caused fire risks

Infrastructure:

  • Investing in Central Oregon Road Safety to support rural roadways and provideneeded safety enhancements
