Bevel Brewing – Bicentennial Double IPA Citrusy and smooth The Bicentennial from Bevel leaves a strong mark, to say the least. Its citrus flavors and smooth texture set this apart to make it something truly special. While it sits at 8.9 percent ABV, the flavors make this double easy going. -Isaac Biehl Credit: Isaac Biehl
Boneyard – RPM Classic staple Boneyard RPM: what’s left to say that hasn’t been said? Best IPA made in Bend? If it’s not, I’d like to hear a compelling argument that says otherwise. It may not be as frilly or new age as some IPAs, but it’s delicious. Every. Single. Time. – Chris Miller Credit: Submitted
Ale Apothecary – Sahalie Wild ale If you’re not yet familiar with this innovative Bend brewery and its offerings, start with Sahalie, an American wild ale that’s aged in oak barrels and fermented with the brewery’s own lactobacillus culture. Beer geeks, you’re welcome. – Nicole Vulcan Credit: Courtesy Ale Apothecary/Facebook
Pfriem – Bright Pale Spring beer hits all the right notes Pfriem isn’t a Central Oregon brewery, but it needs to be on your radar, because they make a lot of beers, most among the best in the state. During the spring, they bottle the Bright Pale ale—and it’s unfortunate it’s not a year-round beer. The tropical aromas coupled with the crisp taste make it an instant classic! Go get some before it’s gone. – Chris Miller Credit: Courtesy Pfriem/Facebook
Spider City Brewing – Deer Garden Hazy IPA Easy drinkin’ This light and dry hazy IPA is perfect for the summer months. Hoppy and juicy like its sister—the Sneaky Deer Hazy Double IPA—but with a lower ABV, you can enjoy more than one.  – Keely Damara Credit: Keely Damara
Good Life – Sweet As Canned beer perfection Hoppy, fresh and perfect for a sunny afternoon. Sweet As is one of my personal favorites for watching the sun set over the mountains. Plus, it’s 6 percent ABV! – Bron Wickum Credit: Courtesy Goodlife/Facebook
Silver Moon – Mango IPA Fruity love A tropical burst of flavor; admittedly, it can be dangerous. This IPA is my go-to when hanging out by the water, or just lounging in a lawn chair. – Bron Wickum Credit: Courtesy Silver Moon/Facebook
Wild Ride Brew – Electri-Fly IPA Fly beer in Redmond This Redmond favorite is very aromatic, balancing hops with tropical notes with honey malts for a smooth delivery. – Keely Damara Credit: Courtesy Wild Ride Brew
Madras Brewing – Mexican Stout Cinnamon and spice It’s been a long time coming, but Madras finally has a brewery. The recipes are theirs, but the brews are made at Bend’s Kobold Brewing. If you’re a fan of Mexican chocolate, and at the same time, you like stouts, then try the Mexican Stout—made with spicy cinnamon flavors that distinguish Mexican chocolate. – Nicole Vulcan Credit: Nicole Vulcan
Worthy Brewing – Strata IPA Go-to IPA The Strata IPA is an ideal beverage. It’s fruity, slightly tropical, while not being too overpowering – so it’s very drinkable. It tastes especially satisfying while under the sun and is a prime model of what a good IPA should be. -Isaac Biehl Credit: Isaac Biehl
