This winter season the Northwest is in line for an above-average snowfall, at least according to AccuWeather.com‘s “Expert Long-Range Forecaster” Paul Pastelok. That’s good newsโ€”if you believe in such things. As for us, well, we don’t trust a forecast that’s more than a couple days down the road, but we will take September’s record-breaking snows as a good omen.

In that spirit, this year’s Snowrider’s Guide, highlights four different disciplinesโ€”Nordic, backcountry, alpine and snowboarding. Each profile is an encouraging and inspiring athlete, someone whose wisdom and experience will hopefully stoke your own snowrider ambitions. Bundle up and get out there; no matter how much snow we get it’s going to be a good winter.
