They’d been talking about it for some time now, but Bend’s 92/9 FM is now officially streaming their broadcast online as of Friday afternoon.
For those who may not be able to tune in at work because the office radio has been hijacked by smooth jazz fans, this is a big coup.

Central Oregon’s Last Comic Standing Begins Tonight
There are funny people among us here on the High Desert and some of those folks will test their hilarity tonight at the opening round of Central Oregon’s Last Comic Standing. Erin Cole-Baker Music Video “World Sweet World”
Late last year, local songwriter Erin Cole-Baker debuted her full-length record, Talon and Spur, which included the excellently quaint number, “World Sweet World.”
Then — just last night — local photographer and filmmaker Josh Cordell shot this video for that track with the help of his crew, Paula Watts and Zack Nutter.

Don’t Stop Believing…Says the Sign Outside Our Office
Say what you want about Journey, or the act of defacing public property, but when coming to a stop at this sign outside the Source Weekly offices, it’s damn near impossible not to have yourself a chuckle.
Who knew that a public street sign could become a promotion for one of the most beloved hair-band anthems of all time? And quite easily, too.

If you weren’t one of the 50 or so people who crammed into a packed Nature of Words office last night for the Source Weekly Fiction Reading, you missed some incredible passages from Benjamin Percy and his low, growly voice.
Here’s a some video of Percy answering an audience question about how Bend figured into the narrative of his new novel, The Wilding, which is set entirely here in Central Oregon.
Judy Collins Sells Out the Tower
Do you like Judy Collins? Well, that doesn’t really matter because apparently your neighbors are totally and unquestionably in love with the legendary singer songwriter, as evidenced by the fact that tonight’s show at the Tower is sold out.
If you don’t have tickets for this one, sorry about that.
The Source Fiction Reading, Featuring Benjamin Percy, is Tonight
A little more than a week ago we published our annual Fiction Issue, which included short stories from five local authors, in addition to a profile on Bend native Benjamin Percy and his new novel, The Wilding.
Tonight you can meet these authors, including Percy, and hear their stories in real life at The Nature of Words in downtown Bend (224 NW Oregon).
