Six years after the passing of Congressman Lewis, communities are coming together to fight for voting rights.

 On Saturday, July 18, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., community members will gather at Peace Corner in Bend as part of the national Good Trouble Lives On Weekend of Action, honoring the legacy of Congressman John Lewis through peaceful, nonviolent action. 

Six years after the passing of Congressman Lewis, communities across the country are coming together to continue the fight for voting rights. This yearโ€™s theme, โ€œTeach! Reach! Preach!โ€, is a call to educate, organize, and inspire civic participation in the face of threats to voting rights. The weekend serves as a national mobilization to honor Lewisโ€™ legacy by doing what he loved most: organizing, acting, and encouraging civic engagement. 

The Bend gathering is one of many events taking place nationwide during the Good Trouble Lives On Weekend of Action.
